Eva Serio

Founder and Artistic Director, Premio Michele Serio · President, Ba.Cu.Le. Cultural Association

Eva Serio took her first steps in publishing thanks to her father, Michele Serio, with whom she began working as a teenager, carefully editing his books, short stories and articles.

She earned a degree in Lingue e Culture Moderne from Università degli Studi Suor Orsola Benincasa in Naples, with a thesis titled Grottesca-mente. Compagnone e Montesano: il grottesco napoletano nel dopoguerra (on the Neapolitan grotesque in postwar literature), and began her career at a leading Neapolitan publishing house. She later moved abroad, where she found her calling in social mediaworking with Brussels Philarmonic Orchestra.

Back in Naples, she became Head of International Relationsbroadening her experience and providing social media, marketing and communications consultancyboth in Italy and abroad.

In 2015 she founded her communications agency, iSerio, as she likes to say,run by me, myself and Ito offer the best results and maximum personalization through the direct, hands-on work she does personally to help businesses thrive in the digital world.

Eva Serio has never left the world of publishing and has continued to follow in her father’s footsteps. Over the years she has kept her passion for literature alive through meaningful projects. In 2023, for example, she was among the contributors to Agendo NO WAR with the short story “Che cos’è la pace?”and she also contributed to Agendo 2024 with the short story “Il neurone musicale”.

She translated “Il simbolismo dei tarocchi” by P.D. Ouspensky for the editorial house Colonneseoversaw the posthumous publication of one of her father’s unpublished manuscripts “Il Calcio e la Danza dei Sette Veli”(Colonnese, 2022), and edited the second edition of “Così parlò il Mostro” (Homo Scrivens, 2023).

Her commitment to preserving her father’s memory led her to write the foreword to “Napoli stregata” (Homo Scrivens, 2024), a book collecting the story “Uguale” adapted into a comic in 2001 and serialized in Corriere del Mezzogiorno together with “La casa infestata”.

A further example of how Eva keeps her father’s literary and cultural legacy alive, while enriching the publishing scene with her own work, is the Premio Michele Serioan initiative that honors his memory and champions grotesque, pulp and noir fiction, giving space to new talent and celebrating works that dare to push beyond the conventional.

She is President of theCultural Association Ba.Cu.Le. Bacoli Cultura e Letteratura, whose mission is to promote culture in all its forms across the Campi Flegrei area.

Since January 2026 she has written the columnBa.Cu.Lèggiamoa space where books become sparks that ignite emotions, memories and unexpected thoughts. No ordinary reviews or academic judgments: each piece is a dive into the heart of a book, an invitation to discover what a story can stir in the mind and soul. All strictly spoiler free..
